The main areas of research activities
  • Aquaporins in male reproductive tract and sperm in farm animals. Aquaporins as new potential markers for male fertility and semen quality in farm animals;
  • Aquaporins in the kidney and their role in renal water balance regulation in farm animals, including effects of dietary supplementation with different levels of inulin-type fructans on renal expression;
  • The long-term effects of immunosuppressive therapy on aquaporins in male reproductive tract in rats;

 

Other areas of research activities

  • The long-term of effects of rapamycin-based immunosuppressive protocols on renal aquaporins in rats;
  • Initial assessment of suitability of MCF-7 and HepG2 cancer cell lines for AQP3 research in cancer biologyEffects of three-months feeding with high fat diets with different fatty acid composition on renal aquaporins and cardiac muscle proteome in mice;
  • Effects of three-months feeding with high fat diets with different fatty acid composition on renal aquaporins and cardiac muscle proteome in mice;
  • Renal function and water-electrolyte balance regulation during pregnancy in farm animals
  • Analysis of protein composition of body fluids in young farm animals and on research in the field of proteomics, including urinary proteome of newborn calves as the new potential in non-invasive neonatal diagnostic,  effects of dietary supplementation with dried chicory root or chicory inulin on kidney and liver mineral content and antioxidative capacity in growing piglets;
  • Effects of various drugs immunosuppressive drugs in relation to morphology, ultrastructure and expression of PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen) and rat prostate cytoskeletal proteins;
Teaching resposibilities
  • Contribution on the teaching lessons and laboratory exercises of Animal Physiology, Animal Ecophysiology, Animal Neonatology, Cell Biology, Proteomics, Basics of Contemporary Microscopy, including Animal Physiology, Proteomics and Basics of Contemporary Microscopy for foreign students;
  • Supervisor of 26 undergraduate and graduate thesis from 2008 till today, including supervisor of 1 master thesis of foreign student (from Federal Republic of Nigeria);
  • Scientific coordinator of The Student Scientific Association of Animal Physiology from 2008 till today;
  • Scientific supervisor of the forging students within the IASTE programme;
